HomeMy WebLinkAboutNTC COUNCIL 2006-06-05 Public Hearing 2004-2006 NOTICE OF MEETING Hawai`i County Council Hilo, Hawai`i NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that in compliance with Chapter 19, Article 11, Section 19-90(b) of the Hawai`i County Code, as amended,the County Council of the County of Hawai`i will be holding a meeting on the following date,time and place for the purpose of fixing the real property tax rates for the fiscal year July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007. DATE: June 5, 2006 (Monday) TIME: 9:00 a.m. PLACE: Councilroom, Hawai`i County Building 25 Aupuni Street Hilo, Hawai`i The real property tax rates for the fiscal year July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007, shall be fixed as follows: Classes of Property Building Land (Per$1,000 Net Valuation) (Per$1,000 Net Valuation) Improved Residential $8.10 $8.10 Unimproved Residential $8.10 $8.10 Apartment $8.10 $8.10 Hotel/Resort $9.00 $9.00 Commercial $9.00 $9.00 Industrial $9.00 $9.00 Agricultural or Native Forests $8.35 $8.35 Conservation $8.55 $8.55 Homeowner $5.55 $5.55 These rates would be fixed by the County Council upon its adoption of Resolution No. 377-06. If the Council does not act upon Resolution No. 377-06 on or before June 20, 2006, the tax rates as previously set shall be applicable to fiscal year 2006-2007. All interested persons are invited to attend, and they shall be afforded the opportunity to be heard. Those desiring to address the County Council should register prior to the convening of the meeting. Those unable to attend may submit their written comments on the subject: (1) by mail to the Office of the County Clerk at 25 Aupuni Street, Room No. 209, Hilo, Hawai`i, 96720, (2) by facsimile to (808) 961-8912, or(3)by e-mail to counciltestitnony @co.hawaii.hi.us. Copies will be made and distributed at the hearing when transmitted in a timely manner. In any case, both oral and written testimony will be considered public record. The meeting place is accessible for persons with physical disabilities. Persons who need special accommodations to attend this meeting should call 961-8255 by June 2, 2006.
