Aloha Councilmen,
Hawaii County has had several disasters with environmental issues including
invasive bugs, animals and diseases. The incorrect introduction of 'safe'
chemicals as well. Certainly GMO's in theory could be of benefit but there is
not enough study of its long term effects. I know that some of my delicious
papayas have been corrupted by airborn pollen from fields of GMO papayas.
I urge you to support this ban on GMO orgainisms until we can be assured of
its safety. And this should be done on an individual species basis...
