Subject: against Bill 79
Dear County Council,
I am writing to express my opposition to Bill 79. I would hope that the county council would be
helping farmers grow food locally rather than attacking them. The main GMO crop here is, as
you know, papaya, and scores of local family farms grow these healthy and delicious fruits.
GMO technology can help reduce insecticide use and provide solutions to other problems such a
viruses that are very difficult to manage otherwise. Please support our farmers and allow future
farmers the choice to use the technology they need.
