Home My WebLink AboutORD 1907-024County of Hawaii, Territory of Hawaii Ordinance No. 24 AMENDING SECTIONS 7 AND 16 OF ORDINANCE NO. 19, ENTITLED "AN ORDINANCE RELATING TO THE REGISTRATIOF. IDENTIFI- CATION AND OPERATION OF MOTOR CARS." Be it ordained by the Board of Supervisors of the County of Hawaii: Section 1. That Section 7 of Ordi- nance No. 19 of the County of Hawaii, passed by the Supervisors of the Coun- ty of Hawaii upon the 9th day of Aug- ust, A. D. 1906, be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as fol- lows: "Section 7. EXAMINERS OF CHAUF- FEURS. — The Board of Supervisors shall from time to time appoint one or more persons who .shall be competent motor car operators and have a fair knowledge of steam, electric and gaso- line motor cars, and who shall be known as the "Examiners of Chauf- feurs," to examine into the qualifica- tions and fitness of any person who may desire to secure a Chauffeur's certificate, to operate a motor car." Section 2. That Section 16 of Ordi- nance No. 19 of the County of Hawaii passed by the Supervisors of the County of Hawaii upon the 9th day of August, A. D. 1906, be and the same is hereby amended so as to read as follows: "Section 16. CHARGES —The charge for registering a motor car and issu- ing a certificate of registration there- of, shall be One ($1.00) Dollar, which shall be collected by the Sheriff and paid to the County Treasurer as a County realization. "The charge for examining a Chauf- feur shall be Two ($2.00) Dollars which shall be retained by the exam- iner as full compensation for his ser- vices in connection therewith. "The charge for registering a Chauf- feur and issuing a certificate to him shall be One ($1.00) Dollar, which shall be collected by the Examiner and paid to the County Treasurer as a County realization." Section 3. This Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after the date of its approval. W. A. TODD, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors.
