Ordinance No. 25
AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 20 EN-
TITLED "AN ORDINANCE AM-
ENDING ORDINANCE NO. 19 EN-
TITLED AN ORDINANCE RELAT-
ING TO THE REGISTRATION,
IDENTIFICATION AND OPERA-
TION OF MOTOR CARS."
Be It Ordained by the Board of Sup-
ervisors of the County of Hawaii:
Section 1. Ordinance No. 20 of the
County of Hawaii, passed by the Sup-
ervisors of the County of Hawaii upon
the 6th day of December, A. D. 1906,
is hereby amended so as to read as
follows:
Section 2. Strike out all of sub-
divisions (1) and (2) of said Ordi-
nance and insert in lieu thereof the
following:
(1) SPEED LIMIT —No person shall
operate a motor car on a public high-
way within the area bounded in the
town of 1-1110, on the makai side by the
sea, north side by the Wailuku river,
mauka side by the mauka line of Pit-
man Street and the extension of the
line thereof to a point parallel with
the one mile post on Volcano Street;
thence down to the mauka line of
Front Street, thence along said mauka
line of Front Street to a point oppo-
site the Northwest corner of Mooheau
Park; at a, rate of speed greater than
eight (8) miles an hour; nor without
said area at a speed greater than of-
ten (15) miles an hour.
(2) SPEED AT CROSSINGS, CUR-
VES, ETC. —Upon approaching a road
crossing, sharp curve or descent, or
turning a street corner, a person op-
erating a motor car shall not ex-
ceed a rate of speed greater than four
(4) miles an hour, and shall have it
under complete control, and shall
give timely warning of his approach
by blowing a horn ,so as not to en-
danger the life or limb of any person
or the safety of any property.
Section 3. This Ordinance shall
take effect and be in force from and
after the date of its approval.

I hereby certify that the foregoing
Ordinance was regularly considered
at a meeting of the Board of Sup-
ervisors of the County of Hawaii,
held at the County Seat upon the
8th day of August, A. D. 1907, and
upon being put to vote said Ordinance
was adopted by a majority of the Sup-
ervisors at said meeting.
