Appointment of Duane Kanuha to the County Planning Director
Aloha County Council:
I am submitting this testimony in support of the appointment of Duane Kanuha to
Planning Director for the County of Hawaii.
I have known Duane Kanuha for more than 10 years . He is a person that I have
successfully conducted business with and have great faith and fortitude in his
professional credentials and strong community networks.
We successfully own and operate two tour companies and a family cattle ranch in
which Duane was instrumental in the foundation of our businesses. We currently
employ nearly 30 employees and we are the largest employment entity in North
Kohala. We strongly believe that through Duane's efforts our success has created a
solid economic foundation for our community. We confidently support the
appointment of Duane Kanuha as the Planning Director for the County of Hawaii.
My testimony is sincere, and if time permitted I would have given this testimony in
person, however, due to a pre-planned business obligation I am not able to attend.
