Aloha Council members,
I am writing this testament in favor of Duane KANUHA's appointment as Planning Director for the County of
Hawaii.
I have known Duane since childhood days when our fathers worked and managed Hilo Motors in Hilo for
Doc Hill.
With an absence of several years from Hawaii Island due to my work commitments with Amanresorts, I
have returned in the past two years to hopefully assist with the creation of an Amanresort
(www.amanresorts.com) on the island. With my return, Duane has been a wealth of knowledge with his
previous County and professional work experience here on Hawaii Island.
It is without any reservation that I support the upcoming nomination of Duane KANUHA for the position of
Planning Director.
