Their contribution will ensure continued broadcasts of County Council meetings on Na Leo, which is very important for an informed citizenry. Also enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Operating Budget by appropriating the funds into the Videotaping — Na Leo `O Hawaii account. The Clerk's office is requesting that this bill and resolution be waived from the Finance Committee and to be placed on the August 7, 2013 Council Agenda. Na Leo 'O Hawaii has a contract with the Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs to use our funds to provide services in support of public, educational and government programming and this grant is to be used for programming cablecast on Na Leo 'O Hawaii. Just as you and the Hawaii County Council does, Na Leo 'O Hawaii considers the cablecasting of government proceedings very important for an informed citizenry. Pursuant to Section 2(g) of Rule 4 of the Rules of Procedure of the Council of the County of Hawaii, this written request is submitted with my approval that the above - referenced matter be waived from the Committee on Finance to the full Council for immediate action.
