RESOLUTION NO. 148 13
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PAYMENT OF FUNDS OF A LATER
FISCAL YEAR AND OF MORE THAN ONE FISCAL YEAR FOR A
MULTI-YEAR LEASE FOR A LARGE CAPACITY MULTIFUNCTION
COPIER FOR THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY IN
HILO
WHEREAS, Section 10-11 of the County Charter requires that any contract,
lease or other obligation requiring payment of funds from the appropriations of a later
fiscal year or of more than one fiscal year be approved by resolution; and
WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii wishes to enter into a multi-year lease
agreement for five (5) years, for a large capacity multifunction copier for the Office of the
Prosecuting Attorney to be used in their Hilo office; and
WHEREAS, the current copier was purchased on a five (5) year maintenance plan
which expires in July, 2013; now, therefore,
WHEREAS, this copier is becoming obsolete and requires frequent service calls;
now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII:
1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into a five (5) year lease
agreement for one large capacity multifunction copier for the Office of
the Prosecuting Attorney.
2. That sufficient funds be budgeted in future fiscal years to cover the
anticipated obligations of the County under the terms of the agreement.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copier shall be leased for a period of five (5) years, at a
cost of approximately $1,000 per month.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that the County Clerk of the County of Hawaii shall transmit
copies of this resolution to the Office of the Mayor, Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, and the
Finance Department.
