Subject: support of bill 79
Aloha mai to the Hawai`i County Council,
I would first like to mahalo you for creating such a brilliant bill that will, if
passed, support and protect Hawaii's sacred land and all residents there of! I am
submitting testimony in strong, strong support of this bill 79 to prohibit GMO
agriculture in Hawaii! Hawaii has the highest level of biodiversity in the world,
thus as residents, it is our highest priority and most important responsibility to
protect that diversity. With the cultivation of GMO crops on our land, the future
of Hawaii's biodiverse environment loses its integrity, as the GMO crops pollute
our soil, eventually making it so that our non GMO crops will be unable to grow
in the soil here.
Please, I beg you, to protect our future sustsinability, to protect our biodiversity,
to protect the sacredness that is Hawaii, to approve this bill 79 and prohibit
GMO crops from growing in Hawaii.
I would just like to say how proud I am to be part Hawaiian, my `ohana are
native to Kohala, living in Hawaii county and that this bill was created! We have
the potential to set a solid example to the rest of the state that we will not be
payed off by billion dollar making companies like Dow and Monsanto so they can
poison our land and our people! I am proud that Hawaii County council has the
courage to create this bill to ban this ludicricy. Thank you for not accepting their
money. Thank you for standing up for what is right. Thank you for protecting
your people from this ecocide that us occurring all around the world! Most of all
thank you for being so courageous, for standing up to such powerful companies,
and refusing to be payed off! I am truly proud of each member of the council for
your courage! Please take it a step further and approve this bill! May Hawaii
County be the leaders for the State of Hawaii! Together we can stand up to these
inhumaine companies!
I send my testimony in today in full humility and with great joy in support of
your great efforts! I represent a whole community from elders to children who

want to see Hawaii GMO free! Please be the pono leaders you were meant to be, yoy
have tens of thousands of people in support of your courage! Mahalo piha! To ensure a
