If Hawaii was non-GMO, we would be a safe haven for cultivating crops attractive world-wide. We would be a leader in promoting safe food and providing many farmers, distributors and grocers with reasonable wages and the healthiest food in the USA. Non-GMO alfalfa and soybeans grows well in Hawaii free from GMO contamination. Based on what the farmer's markets carry, and from I and my neighbors farms and gardens, I know that we can greatly expand with more non-GMO crops. I believe non-GMO products would also encourage more visits from tourists and researchers, world-wide. This is our opportunity to do the right thing, what we know is right for ourselves and our families and children's health -- and not be pressured or coerced by the dollar. Food is medicine. It always has been. Let's keep it that way and spend our money on food we KNOW will keep us healthy, not on growing food that will potentially have us spending more on doctors. Please do the right thing. Take a stand and vote for Bill 79. Thank you very much for your time. d c') Deborah Davis Pahoa, Hawaii Ian: 808-965-0424 — D-4( lc) cel: 808-315-3434 M .crr*t comet. No all. 02 616 Ref.To: P_/J,SM TG , Ref.Dote, tJ. x Zt[i3 7/1/2013
