Aloha Kauai Mayor and County Council Members,
I am writing to urge you to SUPPORT Bill 79.
The following piece of information just came across my desk. It dramatically highlights just
how serious this issue of GMOs has become with Russian president Putin warning President
Obama that the issues around GMOs, specifically bees, could lead to a world war. This article is

Dear Hawai'i County Council Members,
I urge you to pass BILL 79
Stewardship and protection of the aina (our earth mother) is necessary. Genetically modified organisms (GMOs)
contaminate and interfere with the diversity of native ecosystems, our plants, fish, soil microorganisms, water.
The increased overuse of toxic herbicides and pesticides by the GMO corporations on our islands is criminal.
I appreciate your leadership on this issue. Thank you
