I am in support of Bill 79 which would prohibit any new GMO crops on the Island of Hawaii, while
allowing those GMO crops that are already on the island to continue with stronger regulations. The big
companies already have GMO testing on the other islands, keep us free of their greedy profit schemes to
dominate the world's seed crops. I believe that Hawaii Island will be able to attract farms that prefer
"NO GMO" and thereby increase our agricultural economy. More than 60 countries around the world
have banned GMO crops. More OBJECTIVE research must be done before any more GMO transgenic
material is released into our atmosphere and food. Better to be cautious than sorry.
