Subject: Bill 79, An ordinance amending Chapter 14 of the Hawai'i County Code 1983 (2005 Edition,
as Amended)
This letter is in support of the well thought out and stated Bill 79 that would prevent
:: :rmers from planting any genetically modified crops not already grown on the island.
Per the safety of the community and the aina, we need to prevent the possibility of
urt_her contamination to organic crops. There are many scientific studies that can ee'.e
statistics for both sides of this issue but until the issue can be resolved we shoaid not
take a chance on creating further problems down the road.
