HomeMy WebLinkAboutCOM 0271.452 2012-2014 July 1, 2013 Seers of bill 79, Aloha, I am an arborist, a farmer and local resident of Hilo, Hawaii. I have lived here for 18 years. I feel that bill 79 should be passed and if passed it will have a great effect now and in the future for all residents of the big island. We need to have factual scientific evidence from independent researchers as to all the effects of GMO crop experimentation before we plant more GMO crops on our island. The GMO experimentation is affecting the non-GMO crops substantially. The cross pollination between non-GMO and GMO crops compromises the original seed bearing fruit. The logical conclusion is we will cancel out nature's process of crop production. We don't even know how the GMO crops may affect animals and humans. We should not take risks with human life and nature's ecology. Sincerely, George M. Lichtl Arborist oc) cz D-{ C) rn Comm. No i ' ys;. Ref.To: / RsMTt Ref. Date JUL U 2QI3 '
