We lived in Laupahoehoe from 1990 to 1994 and were forced to move due to my husband's severe allergies to GMO and herbicides and pesticides manufactured by the same companies such as Monsanto. The airborne pesticides at the time of sugarcane burning caused my husband to suffer from respiratory arrest and we had to leave our beloved Hawaii even though we had just built a house there and our children were enrolled in school in Laupahoehoe. We have not been able to return to the island and would love to do so once the Big Island can be GMO and herbicide and pesticide free. PLEASE HELP US KEEP GMOs OFF OUR ISLAND.
