I am aware that some of the already existing GMO crops will be exempted from the general GMO ban, so it will not affect economically farmers already growing GMO papayas or flowers. GMO taro and GMO coffee are already prohibited. Please don't force every grower of every crop to go through specific prohibition for growing of GMO of their crops. I hope that the council takes the matter of opposing any further GMO crops on our island very seriously and will support this bill. I find it very important that the growing of organically grown produce here is not impeded. As seeds from GMO plants often contaminate other plants, I very strongly object to GMO plants and wish to be protected from the use of those. Having organically growing produce from our clean Hawaii environment is a real marketing tool and benefit to farmers. Thank you very much, Oscar R.
