Dear Council Members,
I urge you to vote for Bill 79 GMO Prohibition. By now there is plenty of proof that genetically
modifying plants is an unhealthy and dangerous mistake. Despite pressure, bribe offers and false
information from biotech companies, neither all scientists nor all governmental bodies have been
bought, fired or frightened into silence about the dangers or supporting the mistake. Please educate
yourselves, have courage, and stay honest. Notice the last sentence below.

Non-GMO island would attract seed production/hybrid research - free from GMO contamination;
protective sanctuary for many non-GMO crops attract international growers; non-GMO alfalfa and
soybeans grows well in Hawaii free from GMO contamination; provide for tourists seeking non-GMO

A Secret meeting was noticed in the County Building with the biotech lobbyist from Oahu, Rep Mark
Nakashima, papaya industry folks, the Cattlemen's Association, UH professor, etc. after the May 29
County Council meeting on a GMO prohibition bill.

The County Council members are really going to be under the heat from these lobbyists... they have A
LOT of money. and are not afraid to play dirty...we need to stand up together really strongly.
