Along with making farmers pay large amounts of money to certify that they are growing organic foods. if no where else than here its at the utmost importance for Hawaii to be a GMO free zone. our families depend on fresh healthy food not grown or injected with thing that in the long run can make us sick.food should not be controlled by corporations and be for the highest bidder.. GMO's are an easy way out of doing the work that makes food so delicious.(IE-like looking for non toxic fertilizer and nutriments or pesticides that will cause no harm to anyone that might eat it, IE-food is suppose to change colors its how you are able to tell when it is good or has gone bad, and pest should be dealt with responsibly by the farmers so that they have a hands-on approach to what is needed to ensure there crops success health wise and non toxic to the environment) it should be more important to think about the health of our people than the money some farmer may loose for choosing to be a GMO farmer, they made the choice taking the easy way out,who does it help in the long run.. only them and their pockets when farming and growing healthy food takes a back seat to genetically modified foods we really must look at what were doing and how much we really value our health and the health of the families that eat our food. mahalo for reading, Ike payne Comm.
