Re: Bill 79 - GMO Prohibition - Hawaii County Hawaii can be a beacon in the world as a non-GMO island nurturing seed production—free from GMO contamination and be a protective sanctuary for many non-GMO crops attracting international growers. Non-GMO alfalfa and soybeans and other crops grow well in Hawaii free from GMO contamination. Hawaii could continue to be a flourishing haven for locals and tourists seeking non- GMO products, etc. We have lived for centuries here in the old ways... let us continue to shine the light of these ancient and wise practices in nurturing and growing our food, in these modern, unbalanced times. I urge you to support GMO Prohibition in Hawaii and continue honoring the aina, following a wise precautionary principle (where there is uncertainty or potential harm to humans and the natural environment). Let us live pono now, and reject short-term monetary gains, and create a wiser, more progressive, harmonious and sustainable future for our children and future generations. Let us respect the aina and ourselves and cultivate a progressive GMO free Hawaii! Mahalo! Irena Strzinar 'a3 H cD aiku, Maui ` co Pahoa, Hawaii D-{ °1 Cl r m Co Comm. N III. )O3g Ref.To: Ref. Date.
