Subject: Bill 79 Testimony (GMO Prohibition)
Aloha,
I am writing in favor of Bill 79, which is for the prohibition of genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
As a life-long resident of Hawaii, and being born and raised on Hawaii island, I want to show my
support for this bill and encourage its passing. GMOs have been scientifically linked to many terminal
illnesses including intestinal damage, colon cancer and much more (see the website:
wwvy.gcneticroulettemovie.com). On top of that, GMOs pose an ecological threat to the fertile lands of
Hawaii and will over time poison and deplete the soils of minerals. GMO crops cause massive internal
damage to humans when eaten over time, and when eaten by bugs, kills them by making their stomachs
explode. The same goes for farmed fish (aka genetically engineered) like salmon, and animals fed with
GMO feed (corn, wheat grains/hay. etc).
The solution is locally grown organic foods. There are many farmers who would love the extra business
and if given the choice, most Hawaii residents would prefer to eat safe and organic foods.
In conclusion, don't just pass Bill 79 for me, do it for your children, and their children and those after
them. Why should it be legal for us to slowly poison ourselves with unsafe foods? Answer: Prohibit
GMOs.
