We are writing to express our heartfelt and strong support of Hawaii County Bill 79 to prohibit the growing of ANY
genetically modified organisms anywhere in Hawai'i County for any reason. We believe GMOs pose a serious threat to
our health and the future of Hawai'i County agriculture.
While we understand that some farmers on the Big Island will need to adjust their growing parameters, we feel it is
necessary in the larger picture to protect our future and the health of our'ohana and culture.
