The bill adds a new article to Chapter 14, General Welfare titled “Genetically Modified (Transgenic) Organisms Prohibited,” to prohibit the propagation, cultivation, raising, growing, sale or distribution of transgenic organisms (GMO’s). Postponed: May 29, 2013 (There is a pending motion made by Ms. Wille and duly seconded by Mr. Kanuha to recommend passage of Bill 79 on first reading; and a pending motion made by Ms. Wille and duly seconded by Ms. Eoff to amend Bill 79 with the contents of Comm. 271.146.) ; and August 6, 2013: Bill 79 withdrawn by introducer (Ms. Wille) Comm. 271.146: From Council Member Margaret Wille, dated May 28, 2013, transmitting proposed amendments to Bill 79.
