Dear Council Members,
This correspondence is to urge you to vote yes on Bill 79. I am a graduate of UC Berkeley, presently teaching at
the elementary school level, and am a native of Santa Monica, California. After visiting several of the Hawaiian
islands, many times, and living on Maui for several years, I developed a great respect and love for not only the
magnificent beauty of the islands, but especially for the people of Hawaii and their multi-faceted culture. It has
given me much joy to see the movement growing over the years, internationally, to ban genetically modified
organisms. A growing number of your constituents are a part of that movement and I hope you will support
them in their effort to respect and preserve the integrity of the islands of Hawaii.
