Subject: I support Bill #79 !!!!
I am in full support of Bill #79, keeping GMO and off of the Big Island.
Allowing sacred Hawaiian land to be used as testing grounds for chemical poisons is against everything
Hawaii stands for. It is bad enough that Kaho'olawe was used by our government to test military bombs, now
Kauai, O'ahu, Molokai and Maui are allowing Monsanto, Syngenta, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont Pioneer and
BASF to pervert Hawai'i's crops, pollute the air, water and soil and use the islands for chemical field tests at the
expense of the environment and the health of the people of Hawaii. Tests are abundant which show poor health
effects from ingesting GMO foods and exposure to chemicals like glyphosate contained in pesticides like
RoundUp. Many countries are banning these chemicals and GMO foods because they recognize the health risks
associated with these products. One look at the list of American politicians and their current positions with
companies like Monsanto explains why our country is not protecting its citizens. Please protect the Big Island!
You are the last island to resist this madness. PLEASE stand up for Hawaii and her people by saying NO to
GMO!
