Vote NO on (Hawaii County Bill 79)
It is time for public officials such as yourselves to combat the craziness
that swirls around the GMO issue.
More than 600 scientific studies support the safety of biotech foods. The
National Academy of Science, The United Nations Food and AG
Organization, The World Health Organization and the American Medical
Association, among others, have ALL concluded that biotech of GM foods
do NOT pose more risk to people than other foods
(Hawaii County Bill 79) is intended to make the public think there is
something wrong with GMO products, both plant and animal. Their is no
scientific bases for attacking GMO foods. American agriculture is
producing more food using less resources because of modern technology
including GMO.
Legislation of this type is a marketing gimmick by those who want to
attract the public to their alternative production methods by attacking
modern agricultural practices. Those hyped alternative practices will not
feed the next 2 billion people expected on this earth by 2050.
My family farm grows corn and soybeans in Nebraska. We are producing
more with less because of GMO and other modern advances in this
applied science we call American agriculture.
