Many of these chemicals are banned throughout the world. I am very concerned about the negative impacts the Big Island would suffer if we do not regulate the Biotechnology Industries in Hawaii. Most of the local food is produced on the Big Island, what makes it the bread basket of Hawaii. Please help us to keep our land, water and people healthy and regulate the pesticide use and the cultivation of GMO crops. Ban GMO crops! Experience shows us the these big agricultural GMO growing companies bring a wide range of problems with them. The overuse of poisonous pesticides and other chemicals will harm our water, soil, air and health. It is also a proven fact that coexistence between conventional or organic agriculture with GMO cultivation is not possible. The GMO crops are going to contaminate our food crops what will bring our farmers in great difficulties... If we want to keep our resources clean for the generations to come we have to take action now. Please support Bill 79 and show that you put the people of Hawaii over cooperate interests.
