Show them our aloha in the'aina and e malama oukou is makou too. On Big Island, suggestion: call a new program the "Ahupua'a--Our Living Legacy", to employ our people. Showcase our living history, sharing our mana'o,participating in our fishing practicesand ag practices of the'aina. Weave our hula and music, and makahiki with that. We are losing our small farms if we don't promote them and support healthy agricultural practices. We love the small farm style of our islands and want to see them grow. Big ag is taking our lands. Please, bring more sustainable ag tours and apprenticeship programs that are real and honestly sustainable and healthy. Inspire tourists to be sustainable,to enjoy the beauty by touching the spirit in the'aina. We also want chances to bring our other kids home and learn to farm the right way. We don't want to see them train in chemical agriculture. We love the traditional native Hawaiian practices. The Farmers Union United calls them regenerative agricultural practices. Funding is given to the big Ag companies, not supporting our farming and real ways. You can help change this by what you support. And,Please immediate request: support Kauai's Bill 2491 and Big Island's Ordinance 79. If the Big 5 ag guys are here, they need to be pono too. They will not do this without fair regulation. We know Dept of Ag just gives a warning when we are sprayed.. That's it. They make excuses. Then in one year, they fine.Too much damage in one year.. The Big Ag policies are not kuleana values with their toxic pesticides nd open field experimenting 7 days a week. They do not tell us when they Comrn. They call this "modern technology." It makes me sad to see what is happening to our beloved pae'aina'o Hawaii. They make people think it is pono for family and jobs. Not so.No problem. Just change jobs to what gives back to the'aina and what sustains our families. Mahalo, Me ke aloha Pumehana, The Groves Family 105 Kulipuu St. Kihei, HI 96753 7/31/2013
