Dear Members of Hawaii Visitors Bureau,
I own a successful vacation rental business which has been featured on TV and
magazines numerous times. Guests from around the world flock to the Onion House for
its Organic Architecture, gardens, pool and lily ponds. We try to promote
sustainability by growing fruit for the guests on the property. I also helped to start
the Permaculture Foundation of Hawaii, and have created a small Permaculture Farm on
the Red Road in Puna.
Both of these projects have taught me, over the decades, how much Hawaii is
valued as a mecca of natural beauty and unique environmental treasures. Please support
the aspect of Hawaii that is treasured in the imaginations of people around the
planet. Please work to prevent GMO's from taking over our agricultural and economic
environment.
I ask for your support for Bill 79, to prevent further GMO contamination of our
natural wealth. Thank you for taking action on this vital issue.
