It is my pleasure to nominate Melvin S. Morimoto of Council District 6, to the County of
Hawai'i Salary Commission. He is a lifelong resident of Hawai'i. From 1999 to 2011,
Mr. Morimoto was the museum manager of the Kona Historical Society.
Mr. Morimoto has been a Director of the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival since 1999, and
currently serves as its President. He is a former member of the Hawaii County Police
Commission. Mr. Morimoto states that he not affiliated with any political party. If
confirmed, he will serve a term to end on December 31, 2017.
