RESOLUTION NO. 167 13
RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A MONETARY
DONATION OF $30 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS AND
RECREATION TO SUPPORT THE 2013 OHANA SHORELINE
FISHING TOURNAMENT
WHEREAS, Jeffrey and Helen Lorance are donating $30 to the Department of
Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, these funds will be used to provide prizes for the 2013 Ohana
Shoreline Fishing Tournament; and
WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides
that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money,
securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and
Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts
or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the capitalization
procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by Resolution approved by
the Council; and
WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Department of Finance has requested that cash
donations of any amount be recorded and accepted through the formal Resolution
process; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the
acceptance of this donation; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in
accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter
2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of
Hawaii accepts this donation.
BE IT FINALLY RESOLVED that a letter of appreciation and a copy of this
Resolution be sent to Jeffery and Helen Lorance, P.O. Box 132 Holualoa, Hawaii 96725,
acknowledging this generous donation.
