Comm. 395: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 13 -65, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING (Bill 114) BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30, 2014 From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated August 15, 2013. Appropriates revenues of $12,083 in the Federal Grants - Distracted Driving Project account, and appropriates same to the Distracted Driving account. The State of Transportation Public Affairs - Safe Community Program is providing additional funding of $12,083 to the Hawaii County Police Department's Distracted Driving program, bringing the total grant appropriation to $50,000. The grant funds will be used to reduce the number of drivers using an electronic mobile device while operating a motor vehicle and increase the number of electronic mobile device citations. Comm. 396: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 13 -65, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING (Bill 115) BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30. 2014 From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated August 15, 2013. Appropriates revenues of $56,500 in the Federal Grants - Hawai`i County Police Department (HCPD) Data Grant account, and appropriates same to the HCPD Data Grant account. The State of Transportation Public Affairs - Safe Community Program is providing additional funding of $56,500 to HCPD's Data Grant program, bringing the total grant appropriation to $134,500. The grant funds will be used to allow the HCPD to purchase in- vehicle laptop mounting systems. Comm. 397: AUTHORIZES THE FINANCE DIRECTOR TO SELL REAL PROPERTY IN THE (Res. 165 -13) KAMAKOA NUI WORKFORCE HOUSING COMMUNITY AT WAIKOLOA TO HAWAII ISLAND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated August 15, 2013. The Hawaii Island Community Development Corporation (HICDC) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide low and moderate income families with adequate housing and acquire, construct, and provide housing to eligible participants. HICDC has the funding to purchase 10 lots in the Kamakoa Nui Workforce Housing Community and intends to construct homes according to Kamakoa Nui's plans and specifications. FC -18 Page 3 September 4, 2013 Comm. 398: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 13 -66, AS AMENDED, RELATING TO PUBLIC (Bill 116) IMPROVEMENTS AND FINANCING THEREOF FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1 2013 TO JUNE 30 2014 From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated August 15, 2013. Adds the Public Works, Title 23 Projects - Federal ($251,365) to the Capital Budget. Funds for this project shall be provided from Title 23 Program Income - American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) ($251,365). The Ane Keohokalole Project required HELCO to install an underground line extension to power the streetlights, as well as overhead lines to power the Keahuolu Interpretive Center. The County paid HELCO for the work with ARRA funds. This bill appropriates the refundable amount, which will be based on income generated by the line extension over a five -year period. Comm. 403: AMENDS ORDINANCE NO. 13 -65, AS AMENDED, THE OPERATING (Bill 118) BUDGET FOR THE COUNTY OF HAWAII FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE 30 2014 From Finance Director Nancy Crawford, dated August 15, 2013. Appropriates revenues of $13,000 in the Federal Grants - Occupant Protection Program account, and appropriates same to the Occupant Protection Program account. The State of Transportation Public Affairs - Safe Community Program is providing additional funding of $13,000 to Occupants Protection program, bringing the total grant appropriation to $85,000. The grant funds will be used to allow the HCPD to purchase two Prism Inflatable Light 1000 systems for nighttime seat belt checkpoints.
