Re: Capital Budget
Enclosed is a bill for an ordinance amending the Capital Budget to increase the current fiscal year's
appropriation of the County's portion of the Ali'i Drive Culvert Replacement project by $308,000,
bringing the total to $758,000. This project will replace the existing culvert with a wider and longer
bridge over the Waiaha drainageway on Ali'i Drive. This increase will allow for consultant design
services.

A. REQUEST:
An ordinance amending Ordinance 13-66, the capital budget, by increasing the County
appropriation in the amount of $308,000 for a new county total of $758,000.00.
Ali`i Drive Culvert Replacement

B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED :
This project will replace the existing culvert, with a wider and longer bridge, over the
Waiaha drainageway on Ali`i Drive. The existing concrete culvert has an insufficient
design flow capacity and is structurally deficient and functionally obsolete. This is an
increase in the appropriation to allow for consultant design services. The $758,000
appropriation increase is for the County's matching funding needed for the planning,
design, and engineering of the project.
