Subject: Bill 79 GMO
Dear Councilmembers,
I am a resident of Hawaii County and want to reemphasize my support for Bill 79. GMO
crops, as far as it is possible, need to be prohibited from being planted or grown in
Hawaii County. Since pollen is airborne from GMO plants (which is natural) , it cannot be
controlled by any farmer or agribusiness from infecting any other plant on the Hawaii
Island.
Therefore, GMO plants should never be grown here or, in fact, anywhere on our planet.
Since the bill exempts the existing GMO papaya plants, they have no stake in this bill.
