Good afternoon,
My name is Mike O'Malley and I am encouraging you today to do what you can to save your
beautiful state from the destruction that companies like Monsanto bring to economies
and ecosystems.
Like in the cases of drug decriminalization and same-sex marriage, America has too many
financial gains to be on the forefront of progress and social evolution. Other
countries are leaving us in the dust. The list of nations banning Monsanto is growing
weekly, and yet all we're asking for is labeling on products containing GMOs.
You're in a very important position and you could have a huge impact on what, in 20
years, will seem like a very obvious natural progression towards local farms, organic
food, and small town economies.
Until Hawaii stands up for itself against crooked corporations like Monsanto, I will
not be bringing my tourism to Hawaii. Be a beacon in the beautiful glassy waters of the
South Pacific. Show us dumb mainlanders what the strength of local government can do.
I look forward to the day when I will feel comfortable spending money in the beautiful
state of Hawaii.
