Subject: County GMO Bill
Strongly urge the county council to reject the anti-GMO bill currently pending. At least two substantial
reasons: there is no body of scientific evidence that consuming GMO crops has any health effects at all;
second, prohibiting growing GMO crops will ruin many local farmers immediately and, for the future,
close off the Big Island to any advances in growing crops based on scientific evidence. Passing this bill
will put the council on the side of anti-science hysteria.
