Subject: Vote YES on #79
I recently heard a story from grandmother Mona one of the 13 indigenous grandmothers.
This is what the elders tell the children. At some point you will have to make a choice.
In one hand I am holding dollars money and in the other hand I'm holding dirt from the
ground. You have to choose one. When I open my hand that is holding the money the money
blows away. When I open my hand with the dirt I can squeeze the dirt together and it stays
forever.
We hold onto the land, our aina. We make our choices for our children and our grand
children and our grandchildren's grandchildren' s grandchildren.
We must keep the land healthy and happy and safe for all our relations.
Do not sell out to these money hungry monstrous corporations who destroy all in their
path.
King Kamehameha was a farmer and fed all the people. What would he say? What would he do?
Vote yes on 79.
Protect the health of yourselves your children your families your relations your friends
your neighbors and the island of Hawaii.
