Testimony Against Hawaii County Anti-Farming Bills 109 and
113
I am a large Kona Coffee Farmer and I oppose Bills 109 and 113.
As you may be aware Hawaii is now home to a devastating beetle that has reduced our high valued crop by 40%last
year.
Many farmers are abandoning their farms due to the high cost of controlling the beetle.
We have been fortunate in Hawaii up to this point but because of the ease and speed of travel from one side of the
world to the other more and more pest and diseases will show up here. "Coffee Rust"is next.
Please do not limit are opportunity for safe and effective tools for the Farmers and Ranchers in Hawaii.
Please vote against Bill 109 and Bill 113
