JNtr os N��' <br /> tP <br /> \bVe;�; <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> fir!OF•M'� <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 177 1,`3 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO <br /> ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF <br /> HOMELAND SECURITY (DHS) AND THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY <br /> MANAGEMENT AGENCY (FEMA), PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR <br /> THE FY 2012 ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT TO THE <br /> HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> WHEREAS, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the <br /> Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), through their FY 2012 Assistance <br /> to Firefighters grant program, has authorized funding to the Hawaii Fire Department; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, these funds, along with the County's matching funds will be used <br /> towards the Hawai'i Fire Department's Operations and Safety program associated <br /> with the FY 2012 Assistance to Firefighters grant; and <br /> WHEREAS, the funds will be used to hire a training instructor to provide <br /> instruction to selected Hawai'i Fire Department (HFD) instructor personnel on the <br /> topic of escaping from entanglement situations and to purchase equipment to support <br /> such training; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai'i Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br /> departments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the <br /> Federal or State governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br /> powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br /> in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br /> therefore, <br />
