SUBJECT: Hawai`i State Association of Counties representation on the Hawai`i
Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund Task Force.
I am requesting 10 minutes for a discussion regarding the attached memo from Kalbert
Young, director of the State of Hawaii Department of Budget and Finance, regarding the
slection of one representative from the Hawaii State Association of Counties to serve on
the Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund Task Force.
The selection of the representative is anticipated at the next HSAC Executive Committee
meeting on October 22, 2013. For more information about this task force, please refer to
Act 268, Session Laws of Hawai`i 2013, which is available at the Internet address below:

Please place this item on the next available Governmental Relations and Economic
Development Committee agenda.

Pursuant to Act 268, SLH 2013, the Department of Budget and Finance is forming the Hawaii
Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund Task Force to examine the unfunded liability of the
Hawaii Employer-Union Health.Benefits Trust Fund. A copy of the act is enclosed for your
reference.
In accordance with Section 2, we are requesting that you select one member from the Hawaii State
Association of Counties to serve on the task force. Please submit the name and contact information
