To the Chairman Brenda Ford and all Committee Members,
We have comments to make about Bill 113 .
We support the following amendments to Bill 113.
A SUNSET CLAUSE TO ALL GMO IN THE COUNTY OF HAWAII
OF 30 MONTHS, INCLUSIVE OF PAPAYAS.
INCLUSION OF PENALTIES OF VIOLATIONS TO THIS BILL.
DEFINITION OF WHICH DEPARTMENT AND WHICH
DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII IS
REFERENCED IN THIS BILL.
THE PROHIBITION CLAUSE IN REINSTATED IN THIS BILL.
REFER TO THE ORIGINAL BILL 79.
WE DO LIKE THE "PREAMBLE" PORTION OF THE BILL 113 IN
WHICH REFERENCES TO THE HAWAII STATE
CONSTITUTION AND HRS ARE MADE.
We do prefer the strongest Bill to forbid growing all gmos in
Hawaii County.
We understand the theory of "we have to pass something"
and at the same time do not support the papaya industry
growing gmo papaya indefinitely
We support this Bill 113 with reservations.
