I like the idea of an ad hoc committee created to work out the details on making good
reasonable restrictions on GMO products. But, I would go beyond that and create a
permanent committee, or strengthen an existing one, with the duty and authority to stand
up for the public trust of Hawaii County and leave to posterity a legacy of active concern
for the ecological health of Hawaii Island and the personal health of its people.
