Subject: Apposed to Bill 113
Dear Council Members,
I am opposed to Bill 113 for GM0 control.
A strong stance to prohibit GMO' s from being introduced in Hawaii County is needed to
protect the environment, the citizens of Hawaii County, and the consumers of the farm
products they produce. Bill 113 is decidedly weak in providing adequate protection from
DMO introductions and continuations. There are too many loopholes .
The biological and environmental effect of modifying a genome is scientifically unknown
ht this time. I am a coffee farmer in South Kona, and although GMO' s can be perceived to
be magic bullets, they present unknown consequences .
