Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation, to which was referred
Communication No. 406, reports as follows:
Communication No. 406, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated August 26, 2013,
nominates Mr. James H. Traxler to the Hawai`i County Veterans Advisory Committee.
Executive Assistant to the Mayor Charmaine Shigemura read in, for the record, Mr. Traxler's
credentials. He is a seven-year resident of Hawai`i and a former chair and a current member of
the Big Island Retired Military Association. If confirmed, Mr. Traxler will serve a term to expire
on December 31, 2017.
Mr. Traxler was not present at this meeting.
Committee Chair Dru Kanuha requested that Mr. Traxler make a personal appearance when his
nomination comes before the Council.
Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation is in accord with the purpose
and intent of Communication 406, and recommends confirmation of the appointment of
Mr. James H. Traxler to the Hawai`i County Veterans Advisory Committee.
