They will need proprietary chemistry to do the job and that will put our water table at risk. If geothermal is supposed to provide hydrogen, ammonium and probably some metal smelting for Oahu, why not frack I lonolulu instead? That'll save transportation costs and any potential spills. Geothermal should not be allowed within 8 miles of human habitation, especially here in Hawaii. For those who trot out Iceland, their geology is very different. The island is a part of the mid oceanic ocean range system, the only part other then a few islands in the South Atlantic and the African Rift Valley, the only part of that system above water. It isn't the same, and there are those with medical complaints from outside of the drilling area, so it isn't perfect there like many like to believe.
