Subject: Ban Fracking in Hawaii!!!
As a Puna property owner in proximity of proposed fracking, I strongly support Brenda Ford's anti
Fracking Bill 129.
We do not have natural gas here. Fracking that would widen access to geothermal energy would expose
tourists and residents dangerous emissions from escaping gasses. I have been watching the clouds
coming from the present geothermal site and been affected health wise (cough) when the emissions from
this site are dangerously high and when they exceed present standards.
Other economic reasons also need to be considered. My neighbor, who is for fracking, wants to lease his
property to Fracking companies for personal gain. He will benefit financially as his property is not
developed while I my six acre organic farm will loose in value.
Please take my statement into account and ban fracking in Hawaii even though I can not attend the Sept.
17th meeting. Lets keep Hawaii beautiful!
