Murashige, Laura From: Avery Freed [averymfreed©gmail.com] Sent: Friday, September 13, 2013 5:12 PM To: counciltestimony @co.hawai i.hi.us Subject: Pass Bill 129 As a retired physician from Straub, now living in Puna, I ask you to pass bill 129 to ban fracking in Hawaii. Too much is not known and history has shown that geothermal itself is dangerous and when you add the unknown effects of tracking, you are dealing with a potential (more likely a probable) nightmare. Geothermal and geothermal fracking must be proven safe BEFORE it is allowed. Anything else than a moratorium (ban) at this time is irresponsible and very dangerous. To have eliminated home rule regarding geothermal is quite disappointing and embarrassing. Such a power play by the state is scary( are we becoming a Banana Republic?) It has greatly diminished trust in the state government for many people, myself included. Let us begin the journey back to sanity. PLEASE pass bill 129.
