Re: Bill 129
Be it Known:
"Enhanced" geothermal is really Fracking, and will cause unintended consequences; just like Fracking.
Just like Fracking, problems include:
<!--[if !supportLists]-->1. <!--[endif]-->Random outbreaks in nearby areas of gasses (largely
toxic), liquids including, but not limited to, injected admixtures of (undisclosed, highly toxic)
chemicals and petrochemicals and water (now toxic as well).<!--[endif]-->
<!--[if !supportLists]-->2. <!--[endif]-->Leakage of all of the above WITH THE ADDITION OF
VOLCANIC TOXINS into subterranean reservoirs and wells, thus poisoning the already meager
freshwater resources we have. <!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]--> <!--[endif]-->
<!--[if !supportLists]-->3. <!--[endif]-->Angering Pele, indigenous natives, EVERYONE WHO
KNOWS YOU DON'T F' WITH MOTER NATURE---especially for such a chancy success rate.
<!--[if !supportLineBreakNewLine]-->
<!--[endif]-->
There are plenty of problems with the EXISTING geothermal facilities without spreading the problems
for many miles beyond the current problem area.
For those who feel there is no problem, show the diminished property values, neighborhood
complaints, air quality reports and doctor's reports of neighborhood patients.
If all of the geothermal advocates ACTUALLY LIVED NEAR their facilities, I do not believe they would be
quite so enthusiastic.
Most Sincerely,
Richard Schwager
