Subject: Support of GMO bills
I 'm writing you folks from Kauai. Having moved here from south kona to escape the vog and
a mold problem at our house I 'm now not sure i made the right choice for my family and
myself.
I didn't realize the extent that the biotech companies were in operation here. There has
been industrial ag chemicals found in our schools air and water. People here are
experiencing health problems almost certainly caused by these giant chemical /
agricultural companies. Currently these companies are threatening to sue Kauai county for
merely asking them to disclose what, where and when they are spraying.
Please adopt either one of these bills (the stricter the better my opinion) before Hawaii
island is infiltrated by this poisonous technology like most other major islands have
been.

I do own a restaraunt here on Kauai and it does specialize in local organic food. More and
more people seek us out because they are learning about and dont want to consume gmos. I
know from experience that this seems to be the trend both here and on the mainland. You
have the opportunity to be a leader in this movement . There is so much potential for self
sustainability here on the islands where it 's fact that over 80% of our food is imported
from elsewhere. Be a leader in this movement and do what 's best for the community.
