Subject: In favor of Bill 109 by Brenda Ford GMO's
Dear Council Members,
I am in favor of enactment of proposed Bill 109. A strong stance to prohibit GMO's from
being introduced in Hawaii County is needed to protect the environment, the citizens of
Hawaii County, and the consumers of the farm products they produce.
The biological and environmental effect of modifying a genome is scientifically unknown
at this time. I am a coffee farmer in South Kona, and although GMO' s can be perceived to
be magic bullets, they present unknown consequences .
